Best Accessories for a Boat Lift: 5 Add-Ons to Make Your Lift Better

Maybe you just got a boat lift, or are looking to enhance your boating experience. At R.J.’s, we have several great products that will give you a smoother lifting experience, keep your boat cleaner, and allow you to operate your lift at the touch of a button.

Here are five accessories to enhance your boat lift.

  1. Gem Remote
  2. Solar panels
  3. Vinyl canopy
  4. Power Curtain
  5. Docking aids

Let’s get started!

1. Gem Remote.

A Gem Remote is a great way to simplify your lifting experience. It allows you to raise and lower your lift at the touch of a button, and fits perfectly in your pocket.

With a Gem Remote, you can operate your lift with the touch of a button.

The remote can be added to your existing boathouse lift instead of a traditional mounted switch. It also has an optional auto stop to make sure your lift doesn’t rise too high or too low and damage your boat. All in all, it’s a great way to have a smoother lifting experience!

2. Solar panels.

In the Sunshine State, there’s always plenty of sunshine — so why not use it to power your lift?

Solar panels allow you to run your lift without power on your dock.

Our solar power kit can be added to your existing boathouse lift and to most free-standing lifts. Since it’s powered by the sun, it saves you from needing power on your dock. It also has a durable, long-lasting design to prevent wear and tear from the elements.

3. Vinyl canopy.

It’s important to protect your boat from the sun, and a canopy is a great way to do just that! It can be added to your free-standing lift to keep your boat out of the sun and give added protection from the elements.

A vinyl canopy helps protect your boat from the sun and keep it out of the elements.

Our team recommends the Revolution Canopy, which is made of vinyl-coated polyester fabric for long-lasting protection, durability, and weatherproofing. Plus, it’s easy to roll up and store on top of the lift, saving you from the hassle of removing it in the event of bad weather.

4. Power Curtain.

If you’re looking to keep your boat clean and out of the sun, the Power Curtain is the perfect solution! It can be added to your existing boathouse lift or to your free-standing lift with a canopy, and is operated at the touch of a button.

Unlike traditional boat covers, a Power Curtain protects your boat while preventing mildew build-up.

The Power Curtain is made of four woven mesh fabric panels that block UV rays, protecting your boat from sun damage and allowing airflow to prevent mildew build up. Our customers love this product, as it saves them from having to wash their boat more than a few times a year!

5. Docking aids.

Whether you’re new to boating or enjoy easy docking, docking aids are a great addition to your lift setup. Post load guides and corner guides can be added to the front and the back of your lift to keep your boat centered as you’re docking, preventing it from scraping against the sides of the lift.

Similarly, bow stops prevent you from going too far forward on the lift, giving you peace of mind, and added protection and stability while docking.
